High Carb Low Fat Diet Reddit
Anyone here do high carb low fat?
Long story short, I have Gilbert's syndrome which has caused my gallbladder to contain "sludge" despite my vegan diet. I really don't want to have to get my gallbladder removed so I'm looking for some insight on high carb low fat diets. My goal is to decrease my saturated fat consumption as much as possible. Also if anyone knows of foods that clear out gallbladder sludge that would be awesome. Thanks guys.

I have been eating high carb low fat for the past few weeks due to a recent heart attack after doing a ketogenic high fat diet. I basically follow Dr Esselstyn's rules for a whole food plant based no oil lifestyle aka Plant Perfect lifestyle. He recommends no oil or added fats especially if you have heart disease. So for me, no added fats/oils (not even olive oil), no avocados, no nuts, limited soy products, and only 1-2 tbsp of flax per day for omega-3s. If I eat any packaged food or products, oil or fat cannot be in the ingredients. I do my best to make sure I stay away from saturated fats. All my carbs are complex carbs. There will still be fats in my diet due to the fats present in many vegetables and grains, but they are not processed fats and are rarely saturated fats. My food macro tracking says my cholesterol intake is literally ZERO per day.

Just curious, how did you find WFPB? Also are you seeing any results/changes from switching your diet in only a few weeks?

Wow I'm sorry to hear about your heart attack but I'm glad to see that you've adopted such a good diet. Do you eat many starches? I just bought a bunch of taters so I'm ready to indulge. I figured I'd just bake them and sprinkle some herbs and spices, no oil.

I've been sticking to 80/10/10 raw fruit and veg for a couple of years, now back on it after a couple of years' hiatus and feeling great (radically better than 'just vegan' diet). did you read Dr Graham's book?

Are you 80 raw? What are the 10/10 s?

Review Dr. Gregor's resources on turmeric. I believe he has a video that discusses how turmeric causes the gallbladder to contract (but I am going from memory and do not have time to search for it right now)....

I think that by default, a whole foods plant based diet is a high carb low fat diet. If you avoid oils or keep it to a minimum you should not have much to worry much regarding excess of fat in your diet. Best of luck!

By definition a whole food plant based diet excludes processed foods like oil. You could certainly eat much higher fat on the diet if you eat a lot of nuts, seeds, avocados, olives, or coconuts.

Maximum thistle or ultra thistle look it up. It will work wonders.

Spirulina works miracles at detoxing accumulations from the body. Not sure about the gallbladder specifically but I know it benefits the liver!

Maximum or ultra thistle for the liver. I am certain there is something for the gall bladder too.
